ATLANTA (WAOK)- In case you hadn’t noticed, gas prices at the pump just keep going up. A gallon of regular unleaded gas in the Atlanta Metro area is now selling for between $3.45 and $3.49 on Monday night.

The price per gallon in the state has risen about 4 cents since this time last week, according to the website . Prices are about 25 cents higher than one month ago and about 48 cents higher than one year ago.

Prices in the Smyrna/Mableton area which traditionally have some of the lowest gas prices around are still high compared to this time last year. On Sunday,
prices along South Cobb Drive, ranged from $3.45 to $3.49. However, at Atlanta Road and East Paces Ferry the price of a gallon of unleaded was selling for $3.79.

Some experts say we may see gasoline selling over $4.00 per gallon by Memorial Day.
