Last night’s premier off The 27th Annual Stellar Awards was phenomenal. Gospel sensation, VaShawn Mitchell, was the big winner of the evening as he took home six awards. He collected wins for artist of the year, male vocalist of the year, contemporary male vocalist of the year, praise and worship CD of the year for his album Triumphant, urban/inspirational single of the year, and music video of the year for “Nobody Greater” from Triumphant.
Kirk Franklin came in second by bringing home four awards for Song of the Year, Producer of the Year, CD of the Year and Contemporary CD of the Year. Artist, Kim Burrell, won the award for Female Vocalist and Mary Mary won the Group Duo of the Year Award. Last but not least, gospel legend Dorothy Norwood won The Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones Legends Award. Congratulations to all of last night’s winners.
