RIVERDALE, Ga. (AP) — A man accused of killing a Riverdale mother of two is in jail after a judge denied him bond.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that a judge refused to grant 27-year-old Nehemiah Johnson Jr. bond after he was charged in the strangulation death of Rochelle Alisha Thomas.

She was found dead Wednesday at a Jonesboro apartment complex. Johnson, who was already in jail on an unrelated charge, was accused of Thomas’ death on Friday. He faces murder and aggravated assault charges.

Authorities say Thomas dropped her sons off at school Tuesday and wasn’t heard from again. Her car was found two days later with her keys and other personal items still inside.

The next hearing is set for Feb. 14.
