The Atlanta Hawks were looking for their first win in San Antonio in 14 games dating back to 1997 when the team was headlined by Dikembe Mutombo, Steve Smith, and Mookie Blaylock and coached by Lenny Wilkens; however the Hawks weren’t able to snap the streak losing at the AT&T Center 105-83.
Jeff Teague led the way for Atlanta scoring a team high 20 points in the loss to go along with another dismal performance from the “GUY” Joe Johnson who finished the night with 10 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field.
The only bright spot for the Hawks last night was the return of Kirk Hinrich, who made his season debut, after missing 18 games recovering from shoulder surgery, and scored seven points in 14 minutes.
The Hawks previously winners of 6 of their last seven games, the 22-point blowout was the Hawks worst loss of the season.
Atlanta visits the Detroit Pistons tomorrow with tipoff scheduled for 7:30pm.
