Murderer Pleads Guilty And Gets Life In Prison

CANTON (WAOK) – The 20-year old maintenance worker has now admitted to abducting,  raping and killing a 7-year old Canton girl,  and with the plea, avoids the death penalty in the case.  Ryan Brunn entered a guilty plea today in Cherokee county to the murder of Jorelys Rivera,  who was found in a trash compactor, several days after she went missing last month.   Brunn said he lured the girl from the apartment playground,   into a vacant unit at the complex,  then assaulted her,  slashing her throat,  and beating her with a roller skate,  before putting her body in a trash bag,  and throwing it in the trash compactor.   He also said he wrote a note to police telling them where they could find her.  Brunn apologized to the girl’s family,  before he was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
