More Changes For King Center

ATLANTA (AP) -Martin Luther King III has resigned as president of TheKing Center.     King announced his resignation on Tuesday, a day after the nation observed the federal holiday marking his father’s birthday. In a statement, King says he will remain an active member of the King Center board of trustees, but will devote most of his efforts towards launching a new organization dedicated to the principles of nonviolence, social justice and human rights.

King’s sister, Bernice, was named chief executive officer of The King Center last week, and the center recently announced a major overhaul. Their brother, Dexter, is chairman of the board of trustees.
