COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (CBS Atlanta/AP) — Authorities in College Park shut off the water to a condominium complex after city officials in the Atlanta suburb said management didn’t pay the water bill in full.

City officials say the Yorktowne Condos complex has run up a more than $300,000 water bill in the past eight years. The city wanted $56,000 by Tuesday morning but residents had only raised about $10,000.

Residents of the complex tell WGCL-TV they now face eviction.

“A lot of us don’t have jobs, we’re unemployed right now,” resident Dannie Marks told the station.

Resident Clydie Blackwell tells WGCL that she blames the management company for what has happened.

“I did what I was supposed to do,” Blackwell told the station. “I paid my association fees and I feel it was mismanagement.”

College Park is about eight miles south of downtown Atlanta.
