December 15, 1935 – The Detroit Lions won their first of four NFL championships. The team finished with a 7-3-2 record in the regular season. The Lions finished strong with three wins and one tie in their last four games. That effort helped them reach the NFL title game.

The Lions defeated the New York Giants in that contest to seal the championship.
