The Falcons scored 24 unanswered points in the second half, including three Matt Ryan touchdown passes, to give Atlanta a 31-23 comeback win over the Panthers.
Ryan threw four touchdowns total, connected for 320 yards through the air as the Falcons improved to 8-and-5.
Julio Jones had 104 yards receiving and two scores for Atlanta. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton threw for 276 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for Carolina, which slipped to 4-and-9.
After the game Falcons’ Coach Mike Smith talked about the team’s heart and Julio’s big game.
The “Atlanta Journal-Constitution” reports Falcons head coach Mike Smith had to be rushed to a Charlotte area hospital with chest pains after yesterday’s game.
The team said in a statement that Smith was transported for a non-emergency matter.
Coach Smith is expected to return to Atlanta this morning.
