The L.A. Angels have agreed to terms with Albert Pujols on a 10-year, $254 million contract giving the slugger the second largest contract in major league history.
Alex Rodriguez inked a $275 million, 10-year contract with the Texas Rangers before the 2008 season.
Pujols, a three-time National League MVP led the Cardinals to a pair of World Series titles, including this year’s title versus the Rangers.
The Angels also agreed on a five-year, $75 million deal with Rangers’ pitcher C.J. Wilson.
The left-hander was 16-7 with a 2.94 ERA last season.
