The NCAA is breaking its public silence on the scandal surrounding Penn State University’s former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. NCAA President Mark Emmert said yesterday the criminal investigation into the allegations take precedent, but changes will happen.
Sandusky is accused of molesting several young boys, including allegations some of the abuse happened in a Penn State locker room. Emmert said the NCAA probe into Penn State will focus on who knew what about the allegations and when it was known. He said Penn State has been open with answering questions but likely won’t meet the NCAA’s mid-December deadline to respond to several inquiries.
