ATLANTA (WAOK)-One of the favorite things to do around this time of the year is to watch holiday lights. This year there are several new attractions sure to keep you and your family entertained until after Christmas. Check out the list and feel free to add any that we may have overlooked.
Atlanta Botanical Garden’s “Garden Lights, Holiday Nights” contains nearly 1 million lights over 30 acres. This is a walking tour that runs through January 7, 5 – 10 pm nightly (except Christmas Eve and New Years Eve)

Season of Magic in Piedmont Park this is the first year for this attraction which includes a caroling parade nightly at 6 pm. horse- drawn carriage rides, carousel rides, a light show, beer garden, arts and crafts. The attraction is open until January 1. You can walk through or pay for the horse drawn carriage. (adds a romantic touch).

Holiday in Lights at Centennial Olympic Park thousands of lights over 21 acres. Runs through January 2. Free admission to the park. Ice Skating rink also open through January 29. Price for skating is $7 plus $2 skate rental.

Lights of Life at Life University more than 100 displays are included on the Life University campus. Runs thru January 1, from 6 -10 pm Sundays-Thursdays and 6-11 pm Fridays-Saturdays. This is a ride through attraction costing $5 per car, vans and busses cost more.

Stone Mountain Christmas more than 2 million lights in Crossroads Village. This attraction includes various shows and fireworks. Runs nightly through January 1 (except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day)

Gift of Lights at Atlanta Motor Speedway this is the first year for this display which allows you to drive through the speedway. Runs through January 1. The first 15,000 cars receive a holiday gift.

Fantasy in Lights at Callaway Gardens You can take the Jolly Trolly or drive your own car through this attraction featuring 8 million lights. There is also the Christmas Village with shopping and refreshments. Runs through December 30.

Magical Nights of Lights at Lake Lanier Islands Resort featuring 7 miles of lights, carnival rides, pony rides, games, marshmallow roasting and shopping in the Holiday Village. Runs through January 1, 5 – 10 pm nightly.
