The Sports Kings: Coach K Breaks Knight’s Record!

132965491 The Sports Kings: Coach K Breaks Knights Record!Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski has become the all-time leader in NCAA Division One men’s basketball victories.  Coach K earned his 903rd career win when sixth-ranked Duke beat Michigan State, 74-69, in the Champions Classic at Madison Square garden.  Krzyzewski passed Bob Knight for first place on the all-time list.  He says this record will mean more when he is done coaching.

Krzyzewski was coached by Knight during his playing days at Army.  Knight also served as an analyst during Tuesday’s nationally-televised game, and the two men embraced after the record-breaking win.  Krzyzewski spent five seasons as the head coach at Army before taking his current job at Duke in 1980.  He’s guided the Blue Devils to eleven Final Four appearances and four national championships during his tenure.
