In my post yesterday I called for somebody to do something other than let Joe Paterno ride off into the sunset and my prayers were answered.

Stick a fork in Joe Pa… He’s Done!

sandusky in jail The Sports Kings: Stick A Fork In Him...It was announced last night by Penn State’s Board of Trustees that longtime head football coach Joe Paterno was fired along with school president Graham Spanier in the wake of the sexual child abuse scandal surrounding former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

For the first time in 46 years someone other than Paterno will be at the helm when the Nittany Lions take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers this Saturday. Longtime assistant Tom Bradley has been named interim head coach.

Things will get worse before they get better…

Now you have PSU students leading peaceful riots (if there really is a such thing), rallying behind Paterno is a show of support for a man that was ultimately fired for harboring a pedophile and not being a responsible leader of men.

The old saying goes with power comes responsibility and Joe Paterno dropped the ball, literally.

The U.S. Education Department has confirmed that it’s looking into the scandal for technically not reporting incidents of sexual abuse on campus in a timely manner, as required by federal law.

Education Secretary Arne Duncan says the allegations, if true, are a tragedy for the boys and would be even worse if officials knew about the abuse and didn’t report it.
