COBB COUNTY, Ga. (CBS ATLANTA) — A Georgia man is behind bars after police say he hanged a dog outside a mobile home.
Adrian D. Malcom was living with his girlfriend in Marietta when police went to arrest him on a previous criminal trespassing charge.
When police arrived at the house, a neighbor told them he watched Malcom hang a dog and then beat it.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by WGCL-TV, a child witnessed the dog hanging from the rail.
The report also states that Malcom used a chain leash and collar to hang the dog three feet above the ground for four-and-a-half hours, which caused the dog to die.
A necropsy was performed on the dog, revealing that it had died from the hanging.
Malcom is currently being held at the Cobb County jail with $25,000 bond. He was charged with animal cruelty and second-degree child cruelty.
