ATLANTA (AP) – Police say three Georgia State University students have been robbed on or near the downtown Atlanta campus since Sunday night.

One of the crimes happened at 11 p.m. Sunday in a parking deck, where a student said he parked one space away from a pickup truck occupied by four men. The student told police that three of them approached him, choked him, kicked him repeatedly and stole his backpack.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports ( a female student told police that a teenage male snatched a cell phone from her along Kimball Way shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The third crime occurred around noon Wednesday near Piedmont and Auburn avenues, when a GSU student said two males ran up behind him, pushed him down and took money from his wallet.
Police say they are increasing patrols and surveillance in the area and caution students to be careful when talking on cell phones near campus and be aware of their surroundings at all times.

    So Mr. Mayor Reed. you are saying all of the $300,000 that your are spending to gaurd the unOccupied Public Woodruff park wouldnt be better served protecting the student of Georgia State. What do think it will cost when parents decide to stop sending their students to the college all together? Where is the motocycle and horse show now? Where is the SWAT team and special forces when it come to these student being abused in you lovely city?
