The Sports Kings: Richt’s RB Woes Continue!!!

Just 4 days after defeating the Florida Gators, the news broke yesterday that three UGA running backs including freshman starter Isaiah Crowell are suspended for Saturday’s game against New Mexico State for unspecified violations of team rules.

The suspensions of Crowell, Carlton Thomas, and Ken Malcome were announced within minutes after Coach Mark Richt’s weekly press conference.

RB Richard Samuel, whose 4th quarter TD gave the bulldogs the victory over Florida is out after having surgery on his injured ankle and is out for at least the next 4 weeks.

Coach Richt now has no choice but to turn to his 5th and 6th options at running back.

Sophomore Brandon Harton is next in line for the 6-2 Dawgs.

This is just another saga of troubled Bulldog running backs. Starter Washaun Ealey was dismissed from the team in the spring after being suspended multiple times by the team and Caleb King, who was also suspended multiple times last season was ruled academically ineligible for the season and chose to enter the NFL supplemental draft.

Well, that’s pretty harsh, Coach Richt.

It’s pretty tough banning a player before the New Mexico game. New Mexico couldn’t beat a UGA intermural team.

Put the waterboy in to play running back and UGA would still beat New Mexico.

Hell, I’m even suspending myself for the New Mexico game and UGA will still win.
