Matt Ryan is supposed to be one of the NFL’s rising stars at quarterback.

The ratings tell a different story.

Matty Ice is down near the bottom of the list, close to guys such as Chad Henne and Rex Grossman. Certainly, the Falcons expected more from their fourth-year quarterback than an efficiency rating that puts him 21st in the league.

Ryan will concede that he’s not playing up to expectations. But his teammates say the struggling offense is far from a one-man problem. Atlanta (2-3) has been plagued by dumb mistakes, leaky protection on the offensive line and a running game that hasn’t been much of a factor.

The Falcons will be looking to improve in all those areas when they host Carolina on Sunday.

Sorry fellas, but Matt just does not have the game or fortitude to take this or any team to the big one (Super Bowl). Hold on to him as long as you want but you know that he’s a second string QB. Anyway,I’m a transplant……….New England 2012!
