Doraville (WAOK)-An off-duty Doraville police officer was suspended after investigators say he got into an accident while allegedly driving drunk. Officer Kasey Lindsey, 29, was booked into the Dekalb County Jail over the weekend when his Dodge Charger rear-ended a 69- year- old woman’s 2010 Toyota Corolla.

According to police, Lindsey was not hurt, but the woman was taken to Emory Crawford  Long Hospital for treatment after she complained of back and neck pain. After first telling police that he had fallen asleep, Lindsey admitted to police that he had been drinking at a Doraville strip club.

Lindsey failed a field sobriety test with a blood alcohol content of 0.151 and was placed in custody, according to the police report.

Lindsey was charged with DUI, following too closely, having no proof of insurance and driving with an invalid registration. He was released from the DeKalb jail early Sunday on $2,025 bond.

Lindsey joined the Doraville Police Department in January. He has been suspended with pay pending an internal investigation.
