FLOWERY BRANCH (WAOK/AJC)—Will the absence of Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones make a measureable difference when the Falcons take on the Panthers on Sunday? Unfortunately, fans will find out the answer to that question. Coach Mike Smith reported today that Jones will be out of the game on Sunday with a hamstring injury.
Jones has 25 catches and leads the team with 358 yards receiving after five games.
“He’ll be out this week,” Smith said. “We hope to get him back. He worked out with our training staff today. He did some running around. He’s already back out on the field working. We are hoping that after this week, we’ll get him back the following week.”
