Georgia Man Charged With Biting Police Officer

DUNWOODY, Ga. (CBS Atlanta) – One Georgia man literally took “a bite out of crime” to heart.

Andre Thelwell, 22, of Conyers, was arrested after running barefoot on Interstate 285, wielding a stick and biting a police officer, WXIA-TV reports.

Thelwell was apprehended by both Sandy Springs and Dunwoody police after running across the eastbound span, hopping the median and stopping in the westbound lanes of the highway, according to the television station.

Dunwoody police report the suspect was tased after he bit an officer. After the suspect was down, both were sent to local hospitals and treated for injuries.

Thelwell now faces charges of aggravated assault and obstruction.
