Hair Weave Thieves Strike AGAIN

ATLANTA (WAOK)-It’s beginning to sound like a broken record. Hair weave thieves have struck again! This time  burglars smashed their way into Lexi’s Beauty Supply in the 500 block of Ponce de Leon Avenue this morning. Once again, as in past burglaries, police thought the thieves targeted high-dollar Remy hair extensions.

However, this time the outcome was much different. According to store owner Travis Tipton, the burglars only got about $60 worth of merchandise. Tipton told police the thieves took the cash register and some fake hair but walked right by the more expensive Remy human hair extensions.

Tipton opened the store just three weeks ago.

In other hair weave thefts, beauty supply shop owners have reported as much as $100,000 worth of hair extensions stolen. At least 7 beauty supply stores in the Atlanta metro area have been burglarized for hair extensions. Hair weave thefts have alsy been reported in other cities around the country.
