Mood: Glitzy

The Vampire Diaries is on a roll, and I’m lovin’ this new season. This episode had a lot of flashbacks which I usually don’t like. They are often boring and don’t seem to move the plot forward at all. However, the roaring 20’s flashbacks in this episode were not only informative and juicy, but also fun to watch! The scenes were full of fun costumes, music and surroundings from the decade. I’d say it’s way more fun than the pioneer flashbacks the show has had in the past seasons. I absolutely love to look at the wardrobes from the 20’s. The style was so classy and full of glitz. When people went out, they dressed up. The men were in sleek suits and tuxedos and the women wore glamorous fringed dresses. Someone please host a costume party quick, I am dying to dress up like this!!! At least Halloween is only a month away. Let the countdown begin!

I hate to say it, but I like this new Stefan. He is way more fun as a bad guy and a lot hotter too. Bad guys must have some sort of extra hot gene. I know Damon has it! Stefan was too quiet and always brooding with Elena. In the flashback, we were able to get a glimpse of the fun and easygoing Stefan in the 1920’s. He had way more personality. I have a feeling we are going to get to experience a lot more of this Stefan soon. Yummy.

Also, it’s nice to have another storyline different from the drama of Stefan, Claus, Elena, and Damon. Move over Stefan and Elena; we have found a new cutest couple. Could Tyler and Caroline be any more adorable? I was so happy when Tyler came to the rescue. (Side note: I am also glad that Caroline’s mom finally stood up for Caroline! Can you say progress!?!?!?) Tyler is no longer a cocky douche and Caroline is not the conceited and self-absorbed Queen Bee she was in the beginning of the series. Now, the two of them can be supernatural freaks together. Isn’t that sweet?

Keep it up TVD writers; I cannot wait to hear more about Claus and Stefan’s past!
