ATLANTA (WAOK)-An arrest has been made in the stabbing of a MARTA bus driver last week. MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris did not give details on where the suspect was arrested. Police on Wednesday arrested Everett Sloan on armed robbery,  aggravated assault and bus hijacking charges in connection with the stabbing and robbery MARTA bus driver Janet Royston last week.

Royston, 52, a six-year veteran of the transit agency, was injured around 11:25 p.m. last Tuesday during a robbery aboard her bus on Green Forest Drive at Gay Drive.

Police say Sloan, who had been a passengeron the bus stabbed the driver and robbed her. Royston was treated for her injuries at Atlanta Medical Center and released, Harris said.

    Now this was stupid, what was he thinking he was going to get, tokens??? I thought on these buses, the coin portion is locked and cannot be opened until the bus returns to the terminal and a supervisor open the money box…I’m glad this driver is going to be OK, but this clown needs to spend sometime cooling his heels at my expense in the state’s custody…
