ATLANTA (WAOK)-Crime Stoppers Atlanta has increased its usual $2,000  reward to $5,000 for the arrest and indictment of Khalif Edwards, the man wanted  in connection with the assault on Atlanta Police Investigator Patrick Apoian.  Edwards is wanted by Atlanta Police for aggravated assault, aggravated battery,  simple battery, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and cruelty to children  in the 3rd degree in connection with a confrontation he had with Inv.  Patrick Apoian on Thursday evening.

Atlanta police say Edwards had a woman and her two children, ages 1 and 2, in  the car with him during the incident. The woman has not been charged and is cooperating fully with police.

The specifics of the encounter between Inv. Apoian and Mr.  Edwards remain under investigation. Police say they are still in the process of interviewing witnesses, including a re-interview of Inv. Apoian for more details.
