Atlanta School Superintendent Wastes No Time Making Personnel Changes
ATLANTA (WAOK)-Atlanta Public School Superintendent Erroll Davis is keeping his word to parents and students that changes in personnel would be made in schools cited in the CRCT cheating report. On Monday at the Board of Education meeting, Davis suspended four area superintendents and two principals of year round schools who were mentioned in the cheating report. Shanda Beadles, a former science model teacher was appointed Tuesday principal at Hutchinson Elementary School, replacing Rebecca Dashiell-Mitchell. Keisha Gibbons, former assistant principal at Centennial Place Elementary School, was appointed principal at Boyd Elementary School yesterday. Both year-round schools, open for the new school year Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
The area superintendents suspended include:

Michael Pitts, replaced by Danielle Battle, former principal at Martin Luther King Middle School
Robin Hall, replaced by Betsy Bockman, former principal at Inman Middle Schools
Tamara Cotman, replaced by David White, former principal at E. Rivers Elementary School
In other action, Board of Education member and former chair Khaatim Sherrer El resigned his District 2 seat at the meeting. More on that development in a separate post.
