A good education should come from the home whereby mothers are the first teachers responsible for teaching their children social skills to include sharing, making friends, learning to get along with people unlike yourselves, reading, writing, math and to be critical thinkers for themselves..Schools are being used as babysitters/daycare centers for some children, with parents not partaking in their children’s learning…I and my siblings were taught at home prior to going to the first grade, my baby brother was the only one who went to kindergarten and he did not stay longer than one week, because if he looked up and me or my older sister were not around, he would scream his head off so he became a distraction and stayed home until first grade…We all did very well in school, all college graduates….

  2. Tameka L. says:

If most black people truly valued and cherished their children they would NOT have children out of wedlock. Black men would not create multiple children with various women only to abandon all.

If black people truly loved themselves they would not use the word “n*gger” to call one another.

If black women loved themselves they would not sleep with men who do not love and value them enough to MARRY THEM.

Black children success or failure all has to do with their BLACK MOTHER AND BLACK FATHER.

  3. SHAKKA says:

    LOL @ these white people…

    okay Tameka…

i’ll recap what i said on Lorraine’s show this morning…

this is prime opportunity for Mayor Kasim Reed, through his influences or whatever, to tap into the brilliant minds as brothers such as Dr. Steve Perry…

this is a brother who’s methods are already tried, tested and proven. this is a brother that has damn near a 100% success rate in education. this is a brother who cares about the Black community and Black children….

Kasim Reed needs to do whatever it takes to get Dr. Steve Perry to do consultation to the Atlanta public school system…

    1. Eric Bostic says:

      Shakka,

Kasim is not concerned about APS children. He is too busy pleasing boss man Nathan The Crook Deal.

Trust me, I have met Steve Perry on several occasions. We belong to a well-known black club. Steve does not have the time nor the inclination to deal with all the problems of APS. There are enough intelligent people like Derrick Boazman and actually good decent teachers and administrators who can easily use Steve Perry’s methods.

My suggestion to you Shakka is that you read Steve’s book. I can tell by your posts you have no idea what you are talking about. Parental involvement is non-negotiable in a child’s success. Plus Steve is all about DEEDS not WORDS. He is not like some of Derrick’s pseudo-intellectual callers. He is a real black man who does not sit around crying like a big baby.

It is time for you Shakka to put on your big boy pants.

OMG Shakka, I am seeing it…… these are all white people. I believe Tameka, Gayle Morales, ta ta, now Eric are all the same. Eric is now using words like “psuedo” that i used in a post earlier last week. I also beleive Saba is another name they use. They are oing from board to board posting under all these names and genders, and you are absolutely right, it is absolutely hilarious

  4. porsha says:

Tameka, believe it or not, even after your name calling and ridicule, I value what you have said in your post. I do not like blacks using the N word. I do agree that most children deserve a two parent household. I do agree that involved parents, guardians, or single parents can make or break a childs future, but I have a question for you Tameka………..

If you knew of a single black mother, that needed help with her child or children- would you help her or continue to blog about single mothers and out of wedlock children?

If you knew of an 85 year old grandmother on oxygen that was raising 2 boys, one middle school age, one 16, who of no fault of her own took her grands in because their mother is on drugs running the streets somewhere- would you volunteer your time and money to help this woman, or blog about how black people need to get off drugs?

Tameka, this is what I am about. Even though I am very finacially stable, more than most married couples I know, and my daughter wants for nothing- I feel like it is my duty as a black woman to help other blacks that are not as fortunate. I dont care who that single mother slept with- I care about the plight of her children the next generation! I dont care that those 2 boys mother is a strung out poor excuse of a parent, what I do care about is the fact that there is a sick 85 yearold grandmother trying to raise two young boys with limited resources- thats all that is important and thats all that should be important.

Now mind you, none of these people are of any blood kin to me, but If more blacks decided just to help one person without passing judgement, or placing blame, we as a whole would be better off.Whats done is done we can either chose to take action to help or just yak on and on.

ACT NOW TAMEKA …………. and stop pointing fingers and blame.

    1. Eric Bostic says:

Porsha you are a one note Charlie Tuna. You cannot focus on the subject matter. You have an inferiority complex. I pity anyone you happen to be raising. You need to seek the help of the father of your out of wedlock child. When you are woman enough to admit that many of your problems derive from your poor choices in life and creating a child without a man who loved you enough to marry you then we can talk. All your posts on these blogs are ridiculous because it is clear you are mentally disturbed and lack self-esteem.

      1. Sisley says:

Is this you “Eric Bostic”? http://www.facebook.com/bostic2

Tells me all I need to know if so…

    Porsha
Your silly allegations have no merit. If you cannot keep up Porsha why don’t you go post on those other shows. I do not listen to that junk. You love to mention them. Which makes me very suspicious.
No one can put you down unless you give them permission. The few posts I read of yours let me know automatically you have serious self-esteem problems.

    1. porsha says:

Gayle, so youre posting as a man now……… LOL

You are so obvious. You cant have an intelligent conversation, so you resort to put downs, and attacks on my so called mental state, when it is YOU that keeps mentioning me in your posts under all these alias names.

What makes me suspicious about you Gayle, Eric, Tameka, and the rest of your split personalities, is the fact that you think you can talk about or put down other blacks then try to pretend to be black.

And dont concern yourself with my ” out of wedlock” child, shes on top of her game in college, can you say the same about you and yours. Take care of you and yours and stay out of my business about me and mine. You are totally obsessed with me and single mothers!

    1. porsha says:

Ah ha Eric, thanks to Sisley, i am not as dumb afterall. tell your white girlfriend and all your alter egos to stop stalking me on these boards. I knew that the comments that the both of you together have made about blacks in general could not have been coming from a REAL BROTHER OR SISTER. SIT DOWN ASSIMILATED ………..I cant even come up with a name to describe how disgusting i think you are, but if that is you on facebook- do let your white girlfriend know that you are truly safe with her cause i am sure NO sister has ever been checking for you, LOL

  7. porsha says:

Sisley, I am laughing my butt off right about now, his white girlfriend…..go figure! LOL

  8. SHAKKA says:

    @ Eric Bostic…

which Black club are you referring too?

because in his books, Steve talks very harshly about most of these Black organizations…

Steve’s primary focus and concern is education. he has been involved in several national panels on education and has made it known that he is more than willing to do what it takes to become part of the solution to get Black children moving forward and on the right track…

lol @ you making suggestions, on Steve’s behalf, on what he’s interested in pursuing or not…

and if you had a clue, you would know that parental involvement is damned near non-existent in many of these kids lives. they are one step away from being orphans…

it’s time for you to put on your big boy pants Eric, and join the ranks of us who have dedicated a good part of our lives to mentoring these kids, joining organizations such as CASA and start advocating for these children…and simply just get off your lazy butt and DO something instead of throwing rocks…

and if that is you in that picture…you should be ashamed…
