ATLANTA (WAOK)–Repairs crews are working around the clock to repair the bridge and roadway that were both damaged on Tuesday when an Atlanta trucker crashed into the bridge. The trucker, Thomas Sealock will face charges in the case. Atlanta police say Sealock’s truck hit the CSX railroad trestle over Bolton Road Tuesday, causing the bridge to partially collapse. Sealock was injured when a 20 foot piece of concrete fell onto his truck. A woman in a car behind the truck, identified as Elaine Bomar was also injured. CSX spokesman Craig Camuso expressed relief that the injuries were relatively minor.
The trucker received injuries to his legs and feet.
UPDATE: Bolton Road reopened to traffic on Friday July 1.
