ATLANTA (WAOK)-The Atlanta Public School Board will hold a community meeting on Wednesday to allow the two finalists for the job of school superintendent to meet the public. Cheryl Atkinson, superintendent of Lorain City Public Schools in  Ohio, and Bonita Coleman-Potter, deputy superintendent of Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland, will participate in a public forum from 6-8 p.m. at the school board’s downtown central office, located at 130 Trinity Ave. SW.

The two educators will also spend Tuesday interviewing privately with city school board members and will get a close look at some APS schools and facilities.

Atkinson and Coleman-Potter are vying for the position that will be vacated by Dr. Beverly Hall on June 30.  Errol Davis, University System of Georgia Chancellor will take over as interim superintendent until a new Atlanta Public School Superintendent is selected.
