ATLANTA (WAOK)-Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed was among a panel of national experts Sunday discussing everything from whether President Obama can be re-elected to the scandal surrounding U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner.  The Mayor didn’t mince words when talking about the challenge the president faces to get re-elected. He told the panel on “Meet the Press” President Obama needs to focus on one particular area to endear himself to voters.

The Mayor also joined the growing list of critics who are calling for N.Y. Representative Anthony Weiner to resign over his provocative  relationships with various women on the internet. Mayor Reed said it’s time to focus again on serious issues like jobs and the economy.

This is Mayor Reed’s third appearance on “Meet the Press” since he has been mayor of Atlanta.

Rep. Weiner is still unwilling to resign from Congress but has taken a leave of absence to receive counseling. Here is the latest on “Weinergate ” from our New York affiliate 1010 WINS
