2 Weeks Later Gwinnett Mother Still Missing

ATLANTA (WAOK/AP)- 20 year-old Athena Joy Curry went missing on May 29th in Southwest Atlanta. Curry’s family is  making an emotional plea for the safe return of the Gwinnett County mother.

According to the father of Curry’s child, Yusef Mujahed, Curry went missing after the couple had an argument and she stormed off in the middle of the night. Aisha Magee, Curry’s sister, says that it is unlike her sister to be separated from her 16-month-old son for so long.

“She would never leave her son. This is her pride and joy.” Magee said. “She has never left him ever.”

Ms.Currywas last seen at 1485 Beecher Street on May 27, 2011. Ms.Curry is 20 years old, 5’8, approximately 150lbs.  She has black hair & brown eyes.  Any information please notify 911 or the Atlanta Police Department’s Adult Missing Persons Squad.

I hope this girl is found safe, but they way things are looking it’s not promising…Why would a young woman take off and leave her child? This is not a flattering picture of her, she looks like she might be on something or sick especially with this nose ring…Once again, I hope we keep a lookout for this person and hope for a speedy and safe recovery…

Sarah….what an ignorant thing to say! “she looks like she might be on something or sick especially with this nose ring”. Sad that people still think this way.
