(Scottsdale, AZ) — Baseball Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew is dead. The former Twins slugger lost his battle with esophageal cancer today at the age of 74. Former “Minneapolis Star Tribune” sportswriter Doug Grow says many fans considered Harmon the Twins own Babe Ruth.
Nicknamed “Killer” for his ability to hit the long ball, Killebrew is the fifth Hall of Famer to pass away in slightly more than one year. The legend hit 573 career home runs.
