Jason Richardson scored 17 points and J.J. Redick added 14 off the bench in the Magic’s 101-76 win versus YOUR Atlanta Hawks last night in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference matchup at Amway Arena.
The Hawks didn’t even come close to resembling the team from the previous four games they looked more like the Atlanta Hawks that we’ve all come to know.
Yes!!! Those Atlanta Hawks…
The team that didn’t have a playoff appearance from 2000-2007…
The same team that was embarrassed by 34 points in Game Seven of the 2008 playoffs versus the Boston Celtics and the same team that was swept by the Magic last year by an average of 25 points per game.
Orlando’s magical night began with a 5 point lead, then 15, and at one point during the second half the Magic went up by 30 points.
After the game Hawks head coach Larry Drew said his team didn’t play the way he anticipated.
The Hawks offensively looked atrocious. Joe Johnson and series hero Jamal Crawford all but disappeared last night combining for a dismal 13 points. Josh Smith led all scorers with 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Hawks who were looking to close out the series.
The series shifts back to Philips Arena for Game Six on Thursday.
