ATLANTA (WAOK) A 55 year old Smyrna cop was arrested and fired from his job on Thursday after he was caught with marijuana.  Smyrna police say Clyde Cook was stopped by Cobb County Sheriff’s deputies at around 8:30 p.m. on Canton Road in Woodstock. When deputies approached his car they reported smelling marijuana. A search of the vehicle turned up an undetermined amount of the drug.

Cook was arrested after he was searched and deputies found an undisclosed amount of marijuana “in Cook’s groin area.”
The deputies notified Smyrna police, investigators went to the scene and took Cook into custody. After their investigation, Smyrna Police Chief Stanley Hook fired Cook.
