Man Shoots Toddler In Road Rage Incident

DECATUR, Ga. (WAOK) – A mother in Decatur was shocked when a man shot a bullet through her car, striking her young child, in an apparent fit of road rage.

Tabitha Williams was driving her car with her 4-year old son in the back seat on Tuesday. When Williams came to a traffic light, she failed to realize it had turned green. That’s when she says a driver in a Dodge Durango beeped at her and she beeped back.

According to Williams, the driver then allegedly fired a shot into her car, striking the boy.

“I guess I took too long, you know the light had changed or whatever, and the guy blew his horn and I blew my horn back,” she said. “My baby jumped out of his seat and he was hollering, and I heard the gunshot.”

Williams called authorities after realizing her son had been struck by a bullet. The boy was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

“I just really hope he gets caught today. I want him caught and I want him to serve time in jail, because he could have killed my baby today,” she said.

Police are actively searching for the driver of the Durango.
