Hawks Legend Dominique Wilkins Allegedly Attacked By Ex-Ref

ATLANTA (CBS Atlanta) – Hawks legend and Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins was allegedly attacked by a former NBA referee following the team’s victory over the Orlando Magic last night at the Philips Arena.

“The Atlanta Hawks are aware of a postgame altercation involving a fan who allegedly attacked VP of Basketball and TV analyst Dominique Wilkins. The fan was promptly arrested and taken into custody by the Atlanta Police Department,” said Vice President of Public Relations Arthur Triche.

The “fan” was later identified as 36-year-old former ref Rashan Michel. michel Hawks Legend Dominique Wilkins Allegedly Attacked By Ex Ref

Reports indicate that Michel hit Wilkins in the chest and that he also hit a security guard. The suspect was apparently angry over claims that Wilkins owed him money.

Wilkins, 51, was not injured in the fight, according to reports.

Michel was released on $1,000 bond on Thursday morning, police said.
