Former NBA star and current ESPN analyst Jalen Rose was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of drunken driving. ClickOnDetroit.com says police in West Bloomfield, Michigan were called in the early morning hours of March 11th after someone reported seeing an SUV that appeared to have gone off the road.
Authorities say Rose was not injured, but refused to take a breath test at the scene. He was taken to a hospital for a blood test, and issued a citation for operating while under the influence of alcohol. The results of Rose’s blood test have not been released. He is due back in court on April 20th.
Jalen Rose has been in the news lately for comments he made in his ESPN documentary about the University of Michigan’s “Fab Five.” Rose, who was a part of Michigan’s talented teams in the early 90s, caused a stir when he said in the film that when he was 18 he thought Duke University only recruited African-American players who were, quote, “Uncle Toms.”
