The parents of a man who died after being tased six times by DeKalb County police are suing the county and the eight officers who the parents say misused the weapon. 29-year-old Audrecas Davis was tased last May. His parents, Jimmy and Annie Davis contend in their lawsuit that Audrecas did nothing wrong and was not resisting arrest. Mr. Jimmy Davis says that the officers used the taser to “intimidate and coerce his son into submission and compliance with their requests so they could restrain him with the use of handcuffs. The DeKalb Police Internal Review Board cleared the officers last September of wrongdoing in Davis’ death. Medical evidence showed Davis suffered a seizure. A police report blamed Davis’ “combative” behavior for the repeated use of the taser.
