No Bullying in the White House

The President and First Lady  are welcoming students and parents to the White House on Thursday, March  10, 2011 for a Conference on Bullying Prevention. Along with the President and First Lady, will be the Department of Education, and the Department of Health and Human Services.  The objective of the conference is to bring together communities from across the nation who have been affected by bullying as well as those who are taking action to address it. The conference will feature breakout sessions to discuss effective policies and programs to prevent bullying. This will be followed by a wrap-up session. Two of the breakout sessions will be live chats with Facebook.com  and iVillage.com.

If you can’t make the White House conference, don’t be discouraged. Right here in Atlanta you can join the Anti-Prejudice Consortium and Urban Lux magazine for an evening of style, culture and conscience in an endeavor to stop stereotypes and bullying. Hosted by Q Parker from the R&B group 112, the evening hopes to raise support for a good cause. For information and tickets, visit www.apcurbanluxmag.eventbrite.com.
