Former Mayor Andrew Young was present when his personal documents were made public at the Auburn Avenue Research Library On African-American Culture and History.

Besides being Mayor of Atlanta, Young was also the United States Ambassador to the United Nations and a  notable civil rights activist.  The papers were inside of almost 700 boxes found in Young’s basement and offices. Young says that now his documents will be preserved for generations to come

Last month Andrew Young was awarded an Emmy for his contribution to daytime television.
