Georgia State Representative Bobby Franklin says its time to do away with one important piece of identification.
Franklin is trying to implement a bill that would get rid of drivers licenses. Franklin feels that drivers are forced to give away too much information on their driver’s license. The information given is a compromise to one’s privacy, which Representative Franklin thinks is unconstitutional.
Franklin is calling the bill the Right to Travel Act.
I think this is a crazy idea. I think a better idea is to have the license coded with pertinent information necessary for officers and give them a scanner or some other device to read it. Even infrared technology. There is just too much technology nowdays to solve this problem.
