APS Finally Making Moves

After ten hours of deliberation on Monday, Atlanta Public Schools agreed to follow the terms proposed by SACS.

The terms that APS must fulfill before the September 30th deadline include finding a superintendent and hiring a mediator to resolve issues. Although relieved, many parents like Nancy Pearson feel the whole ordeal should have never happened.

School Board President Khaatim Sherrer-El stated the board  recognized the serious consequences a loss in accreditation would bring.

Among those consequences could be the loss of millions of dollars in federal grant money.
