Veteran journalist Juan Williams was fired from his job as a senior news analyst for National Public Radio late Wednesday because of comments he made about Muslims and terrorism on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News Channel.
Here is what he said:
NPR said in a statement that Williams’s remarks – including that he gets “worried” and “nervous” when he sees people dressed in Muslim-style clothing on airplanes – “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”

Last week Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar walked off the set of “The View” after Bill O’Reilly said the 9-11 attacks on America were orchestrated and carried out by muslims.
UPDATE: Williams wasn’t unemployed for long. The Los Angeles Times reported Thursday that Williams was offered a new three-year $2 million contract by Fox News Channel CEO Roger Ailes. Williams was already a Fox News contributor. The hefty pay raise will involve Williams appearing more frequently on the channel and having his own personal column on the channel’s website.
