Oprah Winfrey is disappointed after the former matron who abused girls at her Johannesburg school was acquitted of all charges.

The incident occurred in 2007, at which time Oprah publicly voiced her pain and distress over the thought of abuse occurring at her school.

Tiny Virginia Makopa was accused of trying to kiss and fondle girls. She was also accused of physically abusing students and a supervisor. The court threw the case out, stating there was lack of evidence. Despite the ruling Winfrey says she is proud of the girls who came forward.

Oprah is not God. She might be to some of her followers, but according to the judicial system in South Africa, she carrys no persuasive clout in their system. The evidence was weighed and the matron was founfd to be not guilty by the preponderance of evidence presented. This woman should be allowed to rehab what is left of her reputation and to get on with her life.
