Rick Sanchez.<br /> (Mark Hill for CNN)

Sanchez fired for remarks he made on another talk show that ended up on You Tube. Be careful what you say!

Here is the story as it appeared in the AJC

CNN anchor Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company, according to a statement released by the Atlanta-based cable network.

“ We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well,” according to a statement from CNN.

Sanchez called comedian Jon Stewart, host of the uber-popular Daily Show, a bigot on a satellite radio program.

Sanchez appeared on “Stand Up! with Pete Dominick” Thursday on SiriusXM radio, and said “I think Jon Stewart’s a bigot.” Audio of the comment  is available on YouTube.

It was an odd forum for Sanchez, considering the show’s host, Pete Dominick, is the former warm-up comic for Stewart’s show. Dominick defended his former boss, challenging Sanchez to name a group that Stewart was bigoted toward.

“Anybody who’s different” than Stewart, was Sanchez’s reply.

The discussion became heated before Sanchez finally relented, saying Stewart was merely “prejudicial.”

Sanchez, who is not shy about reminding viewers of his Hispanic heritage, said, “He can’t relate to a guy like me. He can’t relate to a guy whose dad worked all his life. He can’t relate to somebody who grew up poor.”

Dominick said Stewart, who is Jewish, is also a minority. “Please, what are you kidding?… Yeah, a very powerless people,” said Sanchez.

Sanchez also made cracks about MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann and Fox New’s Bill O’Reilly, saying the other cable news organizations were partisan and not really doing journalism.

Atlanta-based CNN has fallen behind Fox and MSNBC in ratings, and recently replaced Jon Klein as its boss. A skeptic might say Sanchez’s comments about the other networks’ talking heads may fall in line with CNN’s marketing strategy. By calling MSNBC too liberal, and Fox too conservative, Sanchez is telling listeners CNN is the moderate choice for news.

CNN’s John King has espoused similar views recently. And this isn’t Sanchez’s first rodeo.

Sanchez did not appear on CNN Friday; he appeared instead at a book signing for his tome, “Conventional Idiocy.”

What Rick Sanchez said was the truth. Telling the truth in the news business must be out of vogue. All the major networks are controlled by jewish interest. Eliot Spitzer, disgraced fromer governer was given a prime time slot, rather than someone who has worked in the business such as Rick Sanchez, Don Lemon or Roland Martin. Campbell Brown who was in that time slot, is jewish, so is Spitzer, Wolf Blitzer, and the head of CNN, Fox, NBC, CBS and most of the major paper news sources. Jon Stewart is an idiot and I do not find him funny. It goes to show how the US has been taken over by foreign interest, and you will be terminated if you don’t tow the corporate line. I’m sure he will get a spot at Tele Mundo, Univision, or even Fox.

I agree with you ,Sarah. It is a sad time in our history for journalism. If you dare to speak the truth, you are terminated. The voices of truth can not and should not be silenced. People should not tip around on tip-toe speaking truth in hushed tones, afraid of the power brokers in the media.
A bright light is rarely shown on the media moguls, who they are and their POLITICAL ideologies. If it is the truth ( Jews owning the media), we must ask ourselves why they are hiding in the shadows. What are their actual motives? Thank God for the internet. That idiot box (TV) is too controlled.
If Americans remain complacent the internet too will be controlled by a few people or groups.

This is not China. But with the help of the Republicans, media controllers/ power brokers, and the likes of Chief Justice Roberts, our country is qradually turning into a China.

I don’t think Rick said anything that should have gotten him fired. Jews as an oppressed minority in America is far from the truth. They have remained united and prospered in this country like no other racial group. Though they are 6% of the U.S. population, they likely represent 50%+ of the wealthiest 2% of Americans. But their success should not be held against them. Theirs is a true example of what a united people can accomplish. Notice that even though they might have different political views, they don’t allow those differences to get in the way of doing what is in the best interest of their people. They don’t allow outside influences to dictate their public policies. But through their unity are able to influence public policies in other nations in a way that benefit their people. Their history has taught them to be true to the people – primarily their people. I have great respect for them as a people and just wish we as a nation could develop the same unified appoached to putting the American people first.

The fact is, all of lthe News Channels or the further things from “journalism” as you can get. If “Watergate” would happen today, not a thing would be done. The press is own by your Rich Right Wing Bigots, an unforunately the “Press” now days won’t be this country savior.

I don’t consider CNN to be moderate. I consider CNN to be a back stabbiang network. I hate FOX and anything associated with FOX with a passion, but at least you know where this disgusting network is coming from. CNN is’nt much different than FOX, except they’re sneaking, and I resent that. There is one bright side to this, and that is, DROP COMCAST. You’ll will save money, and honestly, except for a few movie channels(2), you won’t be missing a thing. Except for FOX AND CNN coming into your home and pissing you off when you look it.
