Mets Pitcher K-Rod Arrested for Assaulting his Father In-Law!!!
New York Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez will be in a Queens criminal court today to face charges of assaulting his father-in-law. The pitcher known as K-Rod was involved in a physical altercation with his 53-year-old father-in-law at the team’s clubhouse last night, after the Mets 6-2 loss to the Rockies at Citi Field. Mets fans out today are weighing in on the 28-year-old’s alleged actions.
The father-in-law was taken to a local hospital with some reported facial bruises and a bump to the head. The Mets have acknowledged in a statement that there was an incident between Rodriguez and his family, but wouldn’t elaborate any further. Rodriguez was held overnight at Citi Field for security reasons. Mets Manager Jerry Manuel didn’t call Rodriguez in to finish out Wednesday night’s game.
Rodriguez has been known to lose his cool in the past. Earlier this year he fought with a bullpen coach, while last year he got into an argument with a team official on a team bus.
