The City of Atlanta hosted a testing event at City Hall Wednesday in anticipation of National HIV Testing Day on Sunday.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed became an example of what he wants for everyone in Georgia Wednesday. Reed took a confidential HIV test to encourage everyone to know their status as we approach National HIV Testing Day on Sunday June 27. The Mayor told the crowd at City Hall more education is needed in the black community where AIDS cases are higher than in other communities.
Also in attendance were members from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention & the Black Leadership Commission on AIDS of Atlanta. AIDS testing will be available at City Hall and many other locations around Atlanta through Sunday.
Here are some other pics from the event.
WAOK wants you to be tested. Here are several locations where you can get a free HIV test this weekend.
