Turns out Drake has a lot more fans than New York City police and organizers of a free concert realized. The Canadian-born rapper was to perform at a free show at Manhattan’s South Street Seaport last night. Organizers expected 10,000 to be on hand – but twice that number showed up. Once the crowd got out of hand – the show was called off. Police say people climbed on roofs and threw chairs and bottles.
Eventually authorities were able to get things calmed down. Two people were arrested on minor charges – six people suffered minor injuries. The sponsor of the free show, Paper magazine, calls the cancellation unfortunate.
