A Facebook group and Reverend Jesse Jackson are calling for a boycott of BP. Rev. Jackson led a group of protesters outside a Chicago BP station this week. Jackson and the head of the Illinois Sierra Club are accusing the oil giant of hiking prices at the pump to pay for the gulf spill. The Facebook group has over 200 thousand followers.
The group has this description on its Facebook page:
Boycott BP stations until the spill is cleaned up!…FOREVER. BP brands to boycott include Castrol, Arco, Aral, am/pm, Amoco, and Wild Bean Cafe. http://twitter.com/bayoulee. HEY MEDIA WE ARE CALLING FOR A WORLD WIDE BOYCOTT OF BP PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. NOT JUST IN THE USA
Jackson called for a boycott of BP in 2006 over hiring practices.
